I, Muqadas Maan, belong to a small village in Pattoki Tehsil of Kasur District in Punjab. I did my Masters in Information Technology from PUCIT, Lahore. I cleared CSS 2017 and landed in postal group in my first attempt with almost 4- 5 months preparation and spent 3-4 hours daily on my preparation. As some aspirants were asking for preparation strategy, let me make it very clear that everyone has his own strategy because everyone is facing different kindda problems and availing different opportunities. So according to that make your strategy.. As I was doing job as an IT teacher in govt sector. And my school was around 22 km from my home, and I had to go to school by local transport. So from 7 am to 4pm I was busy there with no time for study and I used to read just news paper in chunks.. ;) so my strategy won't b applicable to anyone.. But I will share some important points which I noticed during the preparation which may be somehow helpful for you.
1: First of all, as per my observation CSS is all about current affairs but many students ignore its importance. They try to read as many books as they can for different subjects but they don't try to association current affairs with other subjects. This association is very important.
2: Your thought process must be very clear. Specially girls should make their thought process very clear and understand the domestic, national and international politics.
4: Choose subjects according to your interest. And make a difference there.
4: Past papers are veryyyy veryyy important... You should have all your optionals and compulsory past papers in your hand. Understand the papers trend and practice them
5: Evaluations are very important for almost all subjects. Try to give mocks at the end of your preparation
6: Have faith in yourself. :)
7: And obviously do smart work.
All these are very common tips which are given by almost every qualifier. There is nothing new because I had very different scenario. So I will say that only "you" can make it, and can make it with your hard work and dedication. Thanks (FB Page: CSS Exam)
